Head of Real Estate - Real Estate Private Equity

Ms. Rachel TONG is Head of Real Estate at Value Partners.

Ms. TONG is responsible for building the real estate private equity business of the Company. She joined Value Partners in February 2017 as a Senior Director, Real Estate, and was promoted to the current role in January 2018. Started her career in 1997, she is a real estate and financial professional with comprehensive experience working for leading institutions including TH Real Estate, which is the investment arm of Nuveen Company of TIAA in the US, Mapletree Investment Pte., Deutsche Bank and Citibank.

Ms. TONG has accomplished in real estate investment and asset management in Asia, with a proven track record in investment and real estate acquisitions. She has an intimate working relationship with Asia Pacific’s property developers and a close network with the institutional investors, endowment funds, and sovereign funds across Asia, the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.

Prior to joining Value Partners, she was most recently Transactions Director of Asia at TH Real Estate. She also had stints at Mapletree Investment Pte. as General Manager of Investment. Previously, she also assumed Director roles at DTZ Investment Management (Asia) Ltd. and DTZ’s investment department.

Ms. TONG graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts. She was also an independent member of the Investment Committee for China Resources China Retail Real Estate Development Fund I.
